I needed a new mandoline slicer and the Benriner was very highly rated by Americas Test Kitchen and it is the only mandoline I've seen with replaceable blades. I ordered directly from Taiko Enterprises Corp., a Super Beriner and two replacement blades. I received my mandoline and only one replacement blade. Emailed Taiko and they responded in a couple of hours, apologized for the missed item, and sent out the blade priority mail. Great customer service!
The mandoline works great. Thickness is completely adjustable from paper thin to more than a quarter inch and is consistent once set. Blade is razor sharp and I've had no problems slicing hard or soft (ripe tomato's) foods. I haven't used the julienne blades yet, but they look well made and sharp. The size is perfect, not too big or too small and the anti-skid pads keep it firmly in place while using. And last but not least, the blades are replaceable.
